Cinderella by Sir John Everett Millais painted in 1881 is a sweet reminder of childhood fairy tales. Though Millais had moved away from the Pre-Raphilite movement by the mid-1850s many of the styles that he had established remained with him in his later paintings. On the ground next to Cinderellas feet we see two small mice. Tucked back behind the figure are the logs from the fire that our character would often fall asleep next to earning her nickname.
